Эта особенность строения, наблюдаемая как в платформенных, так и в орогенических областях, отражает единый ритм колебательных тектонических движений в четвертичном периоде на огромных пространствах Евразии, который сходен с ритмом колебательных движений в плиоцене.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>A general feature of the river valleys structure in the USSR within not only plains but mountainous areas as well is deep buried cuttings filled with deposits older than alluvium of morphologically expressed terraces-this feature reflects the rhythm of oscillating tectonic movements in the Quaternary which was similar to that of the Pliocene.</p><p>As to the shorter phases of uplifts and cuttings of the valleys-they were relatively synchronous all over the vast territory of Eurasia. It enables us to use them to establish a single geomorphological periodization of the last macrocycle of a geomorphological stage in the Earth's development.</p></trans-abstract></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title></ref-list><fn-group><fn fn-type="conflict"><p>The authors declare that there are no conflicts of interest present.</p></fn></fn-group></back></article>
