Куйккалампи, расположенного на о-ве Лункулансаари в СВ части Ладожского озера, связано с началом регрессии озера в позднем голоцене после завершения Ладожской трансгрессии. Изучение донных отложений озера путем анализа спорово-пыльцевых спектров, растительных макроостатков, раковинных амеб и кладоцер позволило реконструировать динамику наземной растительности и этапы формирования и зарастания озера. Изоляция оз. Куйккалампи (17 м над у. м.) в связи с понижением уровня Ладоги произошла ~3200 кал. л. н. После стадии зарастания водоема на рубеже ~2200 кал. л. н. начала формироваться прибрежная сплавина, в последние ~700 лет отмечается усиление эвтрофирования озера.
