Использовался набор методов, в том числе метод шпилек, метод реперов, метод ловушек, метод Янга и другие. Установлено, что наиболее интенсивная денудация наблюдается на участках бедлендов, возникших в результате деятельности человека, где интенсивность процессов денудации составляет от 2 см/год (Западный Кавказ) до 6 см/год (Апеннины). Денудация бедлендов происходит за счет комбинированного воздействия нескольких экзогенных процессов, набор которых зависит от сочетания литологического состава пород, рельефа и климатических факторов.
