Преимущества узконаправленного эхолотирования иллюстрируются примерами из экспедиционных исследований на судах «Академик Курчатов» и «Океанограф».</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The study of small (from 1 to 1000 m) features of the bottom topography, which is very important fer geomorphological investigations, has become possible after the invention of oarrowbeam echo sounders which give a precise profile of bottom topography. The advantages of the narrowbeam echo sounding are shown by data obtained during the scientific expeditions on the r/v «Academician Kurchatov» and «Oceanographer».</p></trans-abstract></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title></ref-list><fn-group><fn fn-type="conflict"><p>The authors declare that there are no conflicts of interest present.</p></fn></fn-group></back></article>
