Hypsographic curve was calculated for the- territory of the Russian Plane. 8482 values obtained by the grid 1х1 cm² from the l:2500000 map were used. 35% of total area, including shelf and lowlands down to the -40 m, has altitudes within the interval 115-175 m. Another narrower maximum on the histogram lies within the interval -5-15 m. Histograms for two separate parts of the Plane - north-west one that had undergone the glaciation and south-east one that had not differ significantly. By their character one may assume the ascending type of relief development on the most part of the Plane and the existence of several regional denudational base levels within its limits.
